Behind the Scenes With We Should Write Sometime
It's no secret that Nashville is a major hub for songwriters big and small. Many who call Music City home came here for the very purpose of pursuing a songwriting career. And when you write with other creative minds, there's an amazing energy and camaraderie that happens. At least that's what Kevin McCarty and Richard Casper discovered when developing their co-writing app We Should Write Sometime.
Kevin has a background and interest in both music and tech and Richard is the Executive Director of CreatiVets, which uses various art forms to help disabled veterans cope with PTS related issues. Together, the two friends came up with the concept of We Should Write Sometime and recently launched the app.

Called the "Tinder for songwriters," We Should Write Sometime allows users to set up a profile that includes a bio, links to their social media pages, songs and performing rights organization affiliation. They can then search for other songwriters in their city and swipe left or right, depending on if they think the pair would work well together.
When two writers both choose "write" they are then connected and can begin messaging to set up a songwriting session. The app gives users the option to change their location so that writers can connect with people in other cities. This is ideal for touring/traveling writers.
