Behind the Scenes With Tequila's Upscale Food Truck & Catering

Tequila Yancy knows a thing or two about resilience, determination, and hard work. She has spent the last 15 years as a member of the Army National Guard, serving both domestically and overseas. She's  currently pursuing her next dream - to earn a Culinary Arts Degree and grow her food truck and catering business, Tequila's Upscale. She works with local farmers to provide fresh, high quality gourmet farm-to-table comfort food.

Tequila is taking culinary classes at Nashville State Community College (NSCC) to hone her skills, which includes mastering the art of "plating." She's a (mostly) self-taught chef who draws ideas and inspiration from culinary experts, authors, and food industry professionals. Her experience at NSCC has been especially rewarding, allowing her to gain more knowledge and put her culinary talents into practice. Even though she's been cooking most of her life, she still enjoys experimenting and developing new recipes.

The food truck menu reflects Tequila's culinary creativity, offering Philly cheese steak egg rolls, jalapeno BBQ lollipop chicken, strawberry cheesecake egg rolls, deep fried pound cake, and fried deviled eggs.

A catering menu is also available, with a variety of options for both buffet style and station style events. However, Tequila can create custom event menus upon request. She and her team cater events big and small around the Nashville area. Catering services, as well as food truck event bookings, can be done online via the Tequila's Upscale website.
