Lindsay Stafford doesn't like being in the spotlight. Her husband Jimmy, original guitar player for the band Train, does better being center stage. Lindsay prefers to focus on the couple's two feisty redheaded daughters and her woodworking business, Prickly Dame. Lindsay's entrance into woodworking started in 2015, when, as a stay-at-home mom, she began crafting items like picture frames and jewelry holders using pieces of reclaimed wood she found in her attic. She then started making larger pieces like cutting boards and carved signs, which led her to learn wood turning. This hobby soon became a side hustle and Lindsay decided to turn her talents into a profitable business. Today, the Prickly Dame collection features Lindsay's stylish handcrafted bangles and necklaces - designed and crafted with free-spirited dames in mind. But now she sources her wood from several different places, including a 300-acre ranch in Wyoming. Most of the wood she uses is reclaimed and has fallen naturally. She also uses a private mill in the Missouri Ozarks for her bracelets. |
