Behind the Scenes With Nashville K-9
Anyone who has ever owned a dog knows that good training is crucial to the success of being a pet parent. At Nashville K-9, your pooch will get the obedience or behavioral training that he needs to be a "good boy." With both an online training academy and in-house training, Nashville K-9 offers options for all types of pet owners. They can train your dog to protect in the event of a home invasion, provide therapy for those with health issues, or teach your dog basic obedience lessons.
During the warmer months, Nashville K-9 helps dogs learn how to swim using the small pool located on the training property. However, training happens 365 days a year, rain or shine, snow or sleet. The dogs and trainers work together regardless of the weather so that the dogs are equipped to take commands in any situation. There is also an on-site firing range that is used for tactical and home defense training. Pet owners are able to fire at the targets while their dogs sit, observe and get used to the sound of gunfire without being deterred by it. |
Nashville K-9 also works with local police departments and other law enforcement offices to train dogs for a variety of reasons, such as search and rescue cases and narcotics detection. In addition to the training programs offered at Nashville K-9, the organization works with places like the Nashville Humane Association and animal control to take dogs that are at risk of being euthanized and rehab them into trained dogs that find a new purpose instead.
Below are two videos that take a deeper look at Nashville K-9. One is a small snippet of one of the trainers, Raine, showing what goes on during training sessions and the other is a short interview with Nashville K-9 owner Ali Hemyari, who talks more about the training programs offered.
