Behind Nashville Exclusive - Lady Redneck Releases Cover Video of "Forever And Ever, Amen"

Picture
Born into a musical family in Idaho, Stephanie Lee - better known by her country music moniker, Lady Redneck - has just released her version of Randy Travis' famous tune, "Forever And Ever Amen," which, along with her last single, "Duct Tape My Broken Heart," was produced by Grammy record performer Brad Davis.

A bubbly blonde with over 500k fans across her social media pages, Stephanie got her start in the family band, Dusty Boots, which took her family across the northwestern United States, where they sold more than 40k units of their independently released album.

The success of Dusty Boots inspired Stephanie to further pursue a career in music, so she decided to study opera and classical violin in college. It was during that time she came up with her personal mantra, "100% faith. No fear. No excuses. No exceptions." It's that very mantra that motivated Stephanie to save up her money and record her first single, "Love Me Baby" in 2015. After an overwhelming response on social media, she decided to rebrand under the name Lady Redneck.

She has since released three full-length albums and has a fourth on the way, as well as plans to release a brand new song to country radio - also produced by Brad Davis - in the near future. Details and updates will be shared on Stephanie's social media pages, so be sure to follow her!

With all the success Stephanie has had under her Lady Redneck persona, and with the release of her video for "Forever And Ever, Amen," I wanted to know more about how she chose the stage name, the song and what other country artists she loves. Here's what she had to say.

How did you come up with the name Lady Redneck?
My producer, Brad Davis, my husband Jon and I were producing a song and I was in the recording room singing my heart away. The song was kind of sexy and they were talking about the vibe of my sound. They were trying to figure out how to describe it and decided it was either a "Redneck Marilyn" or "Lady Redneck.” It just fit and I’ve been going by that name ever since.

How did you choose the song "Forever And Ever, Amen" to cover?
I’ve always been a huge fan of Randy Travis and have loved and played that song for years. I thought it would be a great one that fans would love.  Plus, I love singing it.

Who are some of your musical idols?
I have a huge list and for so many reasons - Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, Keith Urban, Eric Church.

How has your upbringing impacted your current music career?
I started playing the piano and guitar at age six. Not long after that, we started our family band. I grew up performing; that’s just what we did. My dad used to say, “A family that plays music together, stays together.” My dad was a songwriter and I followed in his footsteps. Music was all we knew and what we did.

If you could share the stage with any country artist - alive or dead - who would it be?
Shania Twain.
And now...introducing...the Behind Nashville exclusive video of Lady Redneck's "Forever And Ever, Amen." Enjoy!
