Behind the Scenes With Author Katie Shands

Local author Katie Shands has only been in the Nashville area for about five years. But in that short amount of time, the city of Franklin has inspired her in such a way that she honors it through her first award-winning novel, Finding Franklin. The story is a mystery, set in Franklin, which gives nods to several local hot spots, including a particular home on Main Street that Katie finds visually and architecturally impressive. Katie also incorporates her Christian faith into the story, which plays a huge role in her personal life as a wife and mother of four.

Prior to writing her book, Katie studied journalism and worked as a broadcast news producer. She also runs the blog Faithfully Organized, which offers tips and tricks on maintaining a less chaotic and more purposeful life through organizing.
