Nashville's Most Eligible - Sports Broadcaster Katie Myers
At just 27 years old, Katie Myers has already lived a very colorful life. As a Sports Broadcaster, she has covered some of the coolest sporting events, including the overwhelmingly popular NFL Draft (where she walked the red carpet), as well as the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Growing up an Atlanta Braves fan (her dog is named Chipper, after Chipper Jones), Katie always knew she wanted to work in sports. While she spends most of her time doing interviews and reporting, she also spends time behind the camera creating content and working for media outlets like Google, The Tennessean/USA Today, ESPN 1025 The Game, and Belmont University.
Outside of the sports world, Katie is searching for that "home run" in the dating world as well. If she had it her way, Justin Timberlake would be saying "Bye, bye, bye" to Jessica Biel and bringing sexy back - Ramen noodle hair and all - to her. But since she's too classy to settle for someone she doesn't (N)sync with, here's everything you need to know about winning Katie's heart if you aren't Justin Timberlake.

Let's start with the age-old question of who should make the first move?
I’m a little old school and definitely prefer the guy to make the first move, however, I’m also not afraid to say hey to someone I think is cute. Online dating is very popular these days. Are you a Bumbler or Tinderer? Online dating works for some people! But for me, nothing quite compares to meeting someone organically. |
"Stay true to yourself; the right person will come."
In terms of non-negotiables, what are some of your deal breakers?
Not having a genuine relationship with the Lord is big for me. I want to be with someone who loves God first, and then loves me. Another big thing for me is support. I’ve always been a dreamer and want to be with someone who is supportive of that.
What is your idea of a dream date?
I love sports, but I work in sports so while many assume that’s what I want to do on a date, it’s usually not! With the weather changing and the holidays approaching, a dream date for me would include something fun like ice skating (unless he can’t, we can go to Opryland and look at the pretty lights if that’s the case - or we can do both!) and a nice dinner. Nashville has SO many good restaurants and this girl loves to eat. For me, a dream date is something simple but thought out enough to know he put in the effort to do something he knew I would want to do.
What are some of your favorite hot spots around Nashville?
I LOVE coffee and have a few favorites: Three Brothers, The Well, and 8th and Roast. The Pharmacy, despite being crowded, is definitely my favorite burger spot in Nashville. For pizza, Five Points is my go-to. I’m also a big fan of the latest axe throwing trend and loved my experiences at Downtown Sporting Club (despite it being on Broadway) and Flying Axes.
Also - I absolutely love being outdoors or doing anything active. I enjoy hiking (Radnor Lake is my go-to in Nashville), ice skating, skiing (although I haven’t been in ages!), or going for a run at Centennial Park. Speaking of running, I love working out and eating healthy is a priority (80% of the time because it’s all about balance, right?). And of course, on the off chance I’m not working, I do enjoy a good game as a fan.

What would you say are some of the biggest challenges with modern dating?
Modern dating is hard for so many reasons. It’s hard to find someone that shares similar values who is also in a similar life stage. Commitment seems to be hard to come by these days and then it’s a struggle finding someone that values wanting a commitment but also sees the need to take things slow enough to get to know each other. Social media also plays a role in the challenges with modern dating. Comparing yourself and your relationship to others, trying to have the picture perfect relationship, etc.

What is a valuable lesson you have learned from past relationships?
Don’t compromise. Too often I see friends of mine compromise their values and lose who they are and I never want to be that person (I’m guilty here too). Stay true to yourself; the right person will come. Always go with your gut. If something feels off, it probably is.
What are a few fun facts that you'd like to share about yourself?
Think you and Katie might be a good match? Visit her on social media and give her a shout. You just might be the touchdown she's been waiting for since Justin and Jessica tied the knot.

What are a few fun facts that you'd like to share about yourself?
- I make a brief cameo in season 1 of Last Chance U on Netflix (episode 3 I think!)
- Halloween is my favorite holiday (okay, tied with Christmas)
- While I do enjoy the summer, I’m definitely more of a cold weather girl
