Behind the Scenes With Holly Darnell of Golden Roots Nashville
A Nashville native who grew up watching her grandmother cook in the kitchen, Holly Darnell is a registered dietitian and the owner of Golden Roots Nashville, a locally-sourced event and catering company. Her love of food and community was very much inspired by her upbringing, of which Holly has fond memories from when she and her family would gather around the table for dinner every night. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University and completed her post-graduate dietetics training at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Holly specializes in working with clients who have GI disorders and focuses on gluten-free and dairy-free cooking. She is working towards becoming an Integrative and Functional Nutrition Practitioner.

In addition to her services at Golden Roots, Holly offers one-on-one nutrition assessments through Nashville Nutrition Partners, a nutrition therapy group practice that she co-founded with two other local registered dietitians. NNP embraces the Health At Every Size (HAES) principle, which promotes weight-inclusivity and acknowledges that weight alone does not determine good health and well-being. NNP takes a comprehensive approach to health by identifying ways to improve physical, behavioral, psychological, and social factors associated with health.
